MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Two employees with the Memphis Fire Department are facing felony charges after law enforcement officials say they were spotted racing down a busy Memphis road.
A spokesperson with MFD confirmed on Monday that 25-year-old Joshua Hines and 26-year-old Jasmyne Long are both active employees with the department.
According to the arrest report, just after midnight on November 5, a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper saw two sports cars, a Chevy Camaro and a Ford Mustang, traveling at a high rate of speed down Getwell Road near Knight Arnold Road.
The trooper activated his blue lights and siren in an attempt to stop the vehicles, but both drivers accelerated, pulling away at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
Dispatchers notified THP’s aviation unit to track the fleeing vehicles.
