WHITESTOWN, Ind. — "Juntos unidos justica por Maria," a crowd shouted in Spanish on Monday which means "united together, justice for Maria."
It was one of the many chants from a crowd on the steps of the Boone County Prosecutor's Office. People showed their support for 32 year-old mother of four Maria Florinda Rios Perez.
Belinda Cozzy-Powers from Boone County attended the peace gathering on Monday.
Cozzy-Powers says, "I'm here to support this family for from a senseless crime. A victim of homicide myself in this county, unsolved, and I felt like it was my duty to come and support them."
Whitestown Police say Perez was shot and killed outside a home last Wednesday . Police say she was a part of a cleaning crew, but she had the wrong address. Someone inside the home shot her through the
