EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A hot topic right now is the recent disruption to SNAP benefits for many around the country.
The City of Evansville Commission on Food Security says they’ll be talking about just that at a press conference at Tri-State Food Bank Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say nearly 100,000 residents throughout the Tri-State have been impacted by the loss of SNAP benefits.
Food security commissioners say have been working diligently to fill the gap and ensure their neighbors do not miss too many meals.
“Looking forward, your support is still needed to help recover and rebuild the emergency food supply as many of our pantries have run low or out of inventory,” says a spokesperson.
That meeting is happening on Tuesday, November 11, at 2 p.m. at the Tri-State Food Bank on Lync
