MOORHEAD — Students at Concordia College this week are taking to the stage to put on one of the biggest musicals ever.

"Jesus Christ Superstar" opens Thursday night, Nov. 13, at the campus theater.

The cast and crew have been working on the musical since school started in the fall.

The "rock-opera" music from Andrew Lloyd Webber is based on the Gospel accounts of the passion and the final days of Christ.

Local standout musicians Steve Stine and Russ Peterson join others in the rock band that accompanies the students in the musical.

Even though the musical came out in the 1970s, many will probably know the songs and the story because the director says they remain solid with audiences today.
