GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - While two games remain after this week, the importance of Saturday’s Senior Day cannot be overstated.
Aside from honoring 28 Pirates who will be playing in Dowdy-Ficklen for the last time, the matchup comes against the 8-2 Memphis Tigers, who on paper are the best remaining team on the schedule.
While ECU is a game ahead of them in the conference standings, the Pirates are stuck in a 4-way tie for 2nd place as of this week, meaning to keep up, running the table is key to having a shot at the conference championship game.
While Memphis enters this game off a loss (to Tulane), the Pirates have now won three straight and scored over 40 points in each game.
After Memphis, the team concludes with two road games, at UT-San Antonio and then at Florida Atlantic.
