VERMONT (ABC22/FOX44) - Moderate to heavy snow across the Champlain Valley is causing a lot of headaches for travelers Monday night. The National Weather Service recommends people avoid travel if possible.
Green Mountain Transit said that all bus service in Chittenden County has been stopped until 8:00 p.m. for "the health and safety of both our riders and our staff."
St. Albans authorities report that Vermont Route 36 is shut down in St. Albans, and that crashes have occured on U.S. Route 2 in Milton as well as southbound Interstate 89.
Driving precautions should also be taken across the lake on I-87 through Plattsburgh.
