OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The parents of a 20-year-old University of Kansas student killed in a hit-and-run last weekend want their daughter remembered not for how she died, but for how she lived.
Elsa McGrain, an Omaha native studying pre-med at KU, was struck and killed while walking in Lawrence.
Police have now arrested a man in connection with her death. They are being held without bond at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas.
However, Anna and Jordan McGrain say they want the focus to be on who their daughter was — and the incredible impact she had on everyone around her.
“She was an angel, there’s just no other way to describe it,” Anna McGrain told First Alert 6.
