EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Of the 45 organizations that applied for the mayor’s ‘Forward together’ grants, 15 will share a pool of $500,000.

Officials say the money came from interest in ARPA funds the city received during COVID.

Officials say the money went to groups that prioritize Home Weatherization, Food Access and Services for people experiencing homelessness.

They say this comes at a good time...as the weather gets colder and people are struggling with the loss of SNAP.
