The Eagles are getting a key defensive player back for Monday’s game against the Packers — 10 months after he dominated Green Bay in the postseason.
Edge rusher Nolan Smith has been activated to the 53-man roster and will play in the Eagles’ “Monday Night Football” matchup against Green Bay at Lambeau Field.
Edge rusher Patrick Johnson was also elevated from the practice squad.
Smith was placed on injured reserve after suffering a triceps injury in a 33-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 21. The third-year edge rusher missed the last five games.
Smith’s active status for Monday’s game doesn’t come as a surprise. Smith was listed as “questionable” for the game but a full participant on Saturday’s practice report.
