A Santa Fe man is heading to state prison in the 2022 manslaughter of his young friend.
Efren Sifuentes-Gallegos, 21, had been serving probation for the fatal shooting of his teen friend, but was ordered Monday to serve more than three years in prison after a judge found he violated the terms of his supervised release.
State District Judge T. Glenn Ellington previously sentenced Sifuentes-Gallegos in March to six and a half years in prison after he pleaded no contest to a count of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Andres Griego-Alvarado, 18. Elllington had suspended all but two years of the sentence in favor of probation, in keeping with Sifuentes-Gallegos' plea agreement with prosecutors.
