It might not be enough for a snowman, but New Mexico's first flurries could hit the mountains this weekend.
Through the week, meteorologists predict days of dryness and temperatures 5 to 15 degrees above normal. That will shift Friday, when a Pacific storm system is slated to move through the region, increasing precipitation chances and cooling temperatures.
"Beautiful conditions really through Thursday, and then conditions start to deteriorate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as that winter storm system starts to make its way through," meteorologist Nico Porcelli said at a Monday briefing by the National Weather Service's Albuquerque office.
