The ACT government has held up the latest payment on the troubled $64 million MyWay+ project while it is "seeking legal advice in relation to the existing contract compliance".

The decision follows a series of botch-ups spelled out in a damning report done for the Assembly by an all-party committee of MLAs.

The stage in dispute is known as Milestone 29 meaning the "practical completion" stage - in other words, that the new ticketing system actually works as promised by the tech firm NEC Australia.

"Not all components of Milestone 29 have been completed as at November 5, 2025," a spokesperson for the ACT government said.

"The ACT government is also seeking legal advice in relation to the existing contract compliance."
