SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Winter weather arrives early this year! A cold weather advisory is in effect for our entire area as wind chills will drop into the upper 20’s to low 30’s away from the beaches and into the upper 30’s to low 40’s close to the Gulf.
It is all about the wind on Tuesday morning NNE at 15-20 mph which will steal the heat away from your body so layer up to protect yourself from hypothermia if you are going to be outdoors for a prolonged period of time. Make sure you bring your pets in sooner than usual.
In general, it can take about an hour to develop hypothermia in 30-degree weather if a person is wet, not wearing adequate clothing, and is inactive.
