Nevada has confirmed its first measles case in a resident since 2018, health officials said Friday, Nov. 7, as national case numbers continue to climb.
The case involves an infant from Clark County who was too young to receive the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine, according to the Southern Nevada Health District. The child was hospitalized and has since been discharged and is recovering.
Health officials said potential exposures were identified at St. Rose Dominican Hospital’s Siena Campus Pediatric Emergency Department in Henderson on Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The district said it’s working with the hospital to notify anyone who may have been exposed.
