A Sparks man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to using or permitting a minor under 14 to be the subject of a sexual portrayal in a performance, and to possessing pornography of a person under 16, the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office said.
Donald Karr II will be eligible for parole after 12 years, the DA's office said.
Karr was arrested by Sparks police in 2024 after a 10-year-old girl found a hidden camera in a shared bathroom used by her and a 12-year-old child. Investigators later determined Karr had also placed a cellphone in two other bathrooms to secretly record the children.
Second Judicial District Court Judge Barry Breslow presided and imposed the sentence.
