CHAMPAIGN COUNTY (WCIA) -- The Eastern Illinois Foodbank is hosting a food drive to help those in need, but it comes with a twist. The event will be a competition between Champaign County law enforcement agencies.

The Champaign, Urbana, Rantoul, Parkland College and University of Illinois Police Departments and the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office are all participating.

Starting Monday, all the agencies will be collecting non-perishable food items. The drive will end Friday, Nov. 21.

Rantoul Deputy Chief Christina Reifsteck said it's a great way to give back to the community, especially this year.
