The Kenai City Council adopted a resolution on Wednesday to formally end its 99-year lease with the Alaska Center for Space Technology, Inc., which operates the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska.

Resolution 2025-64 follows the Challenger Center’s request on October 24 to terminate its lease, citing its inability to continue operations. The nonprofit announced in September that it would dissolve by the end of the year after 25 years of offering hands-on science and space education to Alaskans.
