MICHIGAN, USA — Some schools in West Michigan are closing or delaying their start Tuesday ahead of another day of snow and icy roads.
Lakeshore communities are facing locally intense lake-effect snow impacts overnight Monday into early Tuesday.
This could affect some commutes with slick roads, reduced visibility and accumulating snow through early Tuesday.
The highest impacts are expected in Mason and Oceana counties, which is where we're seeing the first school closures. Mason and Oceana counties were placed under a winter storm warning, while the rest of the lakeshore was placed under a winter weather advisory. That includes Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties.
