TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The ongoing government shutdown has led to flight reductions across much of the country, causing some significant disruptions for travelers at Tucson International Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration has cut flights at 40 airports nationwide to cope with air traffic controller shortages. The flight cutbacks began Friday but continued Monday with stronger ripple effects.
The impact is being felt by many travelers, including Paula Renneisen and her family.
"I was supposed to get into Philly at 10:42 tonight, now I'm getting in at 5:45 tomorrow morning," Renneisen said.
Renneisen, along with her two kids and her mom, are on their way home from a family wedding. Their journey home has been marred by frustration as flights are being canceled and delayed.
