Mat Holten was rushed to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, Devon, following a car crash after he had dropped his 12-year-old twin boys off at Wadebridge School in Cornwall

A dad will never walk again — after he was paralysed in a crash moments after dropping his children off at school.

Mat Holten tried to dodge a car which had pulled out in front of his, but he clipped the front of the vehicle and ploughed into a wall. The impact caused Mat's car to roll over and left him and wife Kristina upside down in their motor.

While Kristina was able to scramble free, her 45-year-old husband was stuck in the wreckage and couldn't feel his leg. Emergency services dashed to the scene and took Mat to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, Devon, where doctors told him he had a level seven spinal injury,
