PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Homeowners on Pleasure Island say they’re running out of options as feral hogs tear up their yards and roam through neighborhoods late into the night.
Pat and Lynda Jones, who have lived in the Mariner’s Cove neighborhood for more than 30 years, say the wild animals have become a persistent and dangerous problem.
“They’re as big as the biggest dog you’ve seen,” Pat Jones told 12News. “And they’re not just like they’re tall, they’re just big, big claws on them.”
Residents say the hogs have made evening walks unsafe. “People go out and walk their dogs or they walk through the neighborhood,” Jones said. “Those hogs are out, they’re out till daylight.”
