CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - West Texas A&M’s men’s and women’s cross country teams both qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships with fifth-place finishes at the South Central Regional Championships on Saturday at Walking Stick Golf Course.
The teams will compete at the national championships on Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. at Wayne E Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Women’s results
The Lady Buffs earned their national championship berth with a fifth-place finish and 192 points, making them the highest finishing Lone Star Conference institution.
Sophomore Naomi Addo led the way for West Texas A&M, finishing sixth overall with a time of 20:55.3.
Abigail Abugire registered a time of 21:37.6 to finish 23rd overall, followed by Julie Lafare in 25th at 21:39.7,
