ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC4) — The city of St. George has opened a new headquarters for the St. George Fire Department, a larger fire station with better capabilities for firefighters in a better location.

On Friday, November 7, the St. George Fire Department opened its new Fire Station 1, which serves as the headquarters for the fire department.

"It's a dramatic upgrade from our current headquarters station located on 1000 East, about three times the size, better capabilities for our firefighters, better location right in the heart of downtown St. George on 400 East and 100 South," said David Cordero, Communications and Marketing Director for the city of St. George.
