POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WLOX) - On Monday, Pearl River Community College kicked off the festive season with a night of music.
The event, called Making Spirits Bright, was started eight years ago after the school was gifted a new piano. In order to pay for repairs and tuning, an event was held showcasing live performances from past and present students.
The event became a tradition and still helps to fund several of the school’s programs.
“It is an opportunity to perform as well as it’s a way to give back to the community and to try to put everybody on the Christmas spirit,” Music and Psychology Instructor Dr. Rudy Gatlin said.
Pearl River County Community College will continue the holiday festivities on November 20th with Wildcat Wonderland, a full Christmas festival for the whole family.
