A doctor has urged people taking colostrum supplements to look closely at what they contain and claims over what they can do. Dr Rachel Woods, a lecturer in Physiology at the Lincoln Medical School , said people could be taking it with unrealistic ideas of what it could do for their health.

Colostrum itself - also known as foremilk - is the initial form of breast milk your body produces during pregnancy and in the early days post-birth. It is widely known as 'liquid gold' due to its thick, rich yellow colour and nutrient-dense nature.
