SPECIALIST tactical police, counter terrorism officers, police airwing and the dog unit have cornered a wanted man after a major manhunt across the New England.

Keith Turner remains behind bars on Tuesday, November 11, after failing in his bid for bail on a string of offences stemming from a wild weekend chase from Warialda to Gravesend.

The dramatic two-day operation saw dozens of police deployed across the New England to find the wanted 35-year-old who was allegedly armed with a shotgun.

Magistrate Miranda Moody heard Turner's new release application in a Sydney bail court this week, before denying it, ordering him in custody, where he will remain until next year.
