A brand of baby formula was voluntarily recalled after it was linked to an infant botulism outbreak in several states, including one case in New Jersey, health officials said.
The state Department of Health said the one case reported in New Jersey is a one-month-old infant in the northeastern part of the state. That "is all the information we can share for privacy reasons," said the Department of Health Director of Communications Dalya Ewais.
Two lots of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula have been voluntarily recalled, according to separate statements published Nov. 8 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .
All 13 cases included in the outbreak are reported to have consumed ByHeart-brand powdered infant formula, the FDA said
