Three people died Monday evening in a crash involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles in Fayette County.

Post-Gazette news partner KDKA reported that, according to Pennsylvania State Police, the three-vehicle crash happened on Route 40 near Laurel Road in Henry Clay Township.

Route 40 closed in both directions Monday night following the crash, KDKA reported.

The news station reported that a fire was also seen on the other side of the guardrail after the crash.

The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately clear.
