In the aftermath of the car explosion in Delhi on Monday evening, authorities across Odisha have placed the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on high alert for three days.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a nationwide directive to airports to intensify security measures — and Bhubaneswar has already begun full-bag screening, increased patrols, and tighter vehicle access.
Airport Director Prasanna Kumar Pradhan stated that 100 % of bags will be screened both at check-in and pre-boarding for the next three days.
