NEW DELHI: Delhi Police believes that the female doctor from Lucknow, arrested in connection with the seizure of a large quantity of explosives from Faridabad, maintained an association with a Pakistan-based terrorist organisation.
Dr Shaheena Shahid was arrested earlier as Delhi Police said she was the brain behind establishing and recruiting the women's wing of the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in India. It is believed that she was in charge of Jamaat-ul-Momineen, the women's wing of Pakistan-based JeM founder Masood Azhar's sister, Sadia Azhar. Sadia Azhar's husband, Yousuf Azhar, the mastermind behind the Kandahar plane attack, was reportedly killed in Operation Sindoor on May 7.
