The death toll from the recent blast near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi has increased to 12, following the deaths of three more injured victims. The explosion occurred on Monday evening when a car stopped at a traffic signal. Initially, nine fatalities and around 20 injuries were reported.

In response to the incident, Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act. Authorities have heightened security across the national capital, particularly at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals, to prevent further incidents.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police are conducting raids at various locations in the city. The public is urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement.

In a related development, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has intensified operations following the blast. On Tuesday, ATS, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police, raided the home of Dr. Shaheen Shahid in Lucknow. Dr. Shaheen, who was arrested a day earlier in Faridabad with an AK-47 and a pistol, is believed to be linked to Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a suspected terrorist.

During the raid, authorities seized important documents and electronic devices from Dr. Shaheen's residence. They also searched her brother's house, where they found additional suspicious materials. The investigation is ongoing, with all recovered items sent for forensic analysis to determine any connections to the blast or a larger terror network.

Officials are closely monitoring social media for any support related to the blast, as directed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The situation remains tense as investigations continue and security measures are enforced across the region.
