CANTON ‒ Stark County Sheriff Eric Weisburn will host a rededication ceremony for the memorial garden honoring former sheriff-elect Michael McDonald on Nov. 14.
The garden, which was recently relocated during construction, is now located outside the main entrance of the Stark County Jail.
McDonald began his career with the Stark County Sheriff’s Office in 1976 as a deputy explorer. He rose through the ranks to serve as jail administrator and chief deputy. In 2012, he was elected sheriff, but due to illness, was unable to assume office. He died Feb. 22, 2013.
