In the second phase, 122 constituencies are going to polls with an electorate of around 3.6 crore people. This phase includes the whole of Seemanchal region in the State. The region is made of 24 constituencies, with 9.7% of the State’s voters coming from this region.

Issues for the people from this region include poverty, migration and floods. Resided predominantly by Muslims , the region is also known for its makhana crop. Infiltration from Bangladesh has also been brought up in the run-up to the polls, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi hitting out against the Congress for letting in “infiltrators.”
