A Chinese couple’s attempt to retaliate against a hotel in South Korea has ignited a storm on social media. While vacationing near Seoul, they booked a villa but later found it inconveniently distant from the city.

When the hotel declined their request to cancel the booking, the couple decided to exact revenge by excessively using the villa’s utilities. Over 25 days, they reportedly consumed approximately 120 tons of water and accumulated charges of $730 (approximately Rs 61,000) for gas and $116 for water.

Their aim to financially harm the hotel backfired as the management billed them for the usage. Faced with the hefty charges, the couple’s plan ended up costing them significantly.
