Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhutan has resulted in several significant agreements and announcements, further strengthening the bilateral relationship between India and Bhutan.
During his ongoing visit, Modi inaugurated the 1,020 MW Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project, a joint initiative between India and Bhutan, marking a major milestone in energy cooperation.

The key announcements include the resumption of work on the 1,200 MW Punatsangchhu-I Hydroelectric Project’s main dam structure. It was also decided that India will grant land for a Bhutanese temple and guest house in Varanasi, promoting cultural ties.
An Immigration Check Post will be established in Hatisar, near Gelephu, enhancing connectivity. India will also provide a Rs 4,000 crore Line of Credit
