Slowly but surely, a solar storm is heading towards the Earth and it could hit our blue marble in mere hours.

Astronomers are predicting this cosmic "tsunami" will collide with the Earth later today following multiple flares and CME’s (Coronal Mass Ejections) from the Sun.

If one of these flares passes by our home, it could have severe ramifications for the Earth's electromagnetic environment and space weather.

If powerful enough, the X5.1-class flare could disrupt satellites, radio, and flights.

Space scientist Steph Yardley , posted on X: "Active Region 4274 just unleashed an X5.1 solar flare - one of the strongest of the current solar cycle!

"The flare was associated with another full halo earth-directed CME. This AR keeps on giving!

"The full halo CME has produced a
