FRANKLIN COUNTY, Idaho — Sydney's Place restaurant is permanently closing its doors this week, with the final day of business set for Saturday.
Denise Hardy Owner of Sydney announced the closure with a "heavy heart," citing inconsistent business that made it difficult to maintain a living and provide for her family, which includes a son with special needs.
The restaurant is named after Denise's mother, who passed away. The Hardy family moved to Preston from Mantua for better services for their autistic son and opened Sydney's Place in Preston in 2024.
Hardy wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page , "Unfortunately, business is not consistent enough for me to make a living. While I still can, I need to do a better job of contributing to my family."
