The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the groundbreaking date for the Jacksonville Florida Temple.
Services will be held on Jan. 24, 2026. Elder Massimo De Feo, First Counselor in the United States Southeast Area Presidency, will preside at the event.
The $27 million and nearly 29,000 square-foot temple will be built on a 6.6-acre site located at 3323 Loretto Road.
City records show the church bought the land for $7.2 million in 2024.
The Jacksonville Business Journal said a second phase of the plan will feature a 20-lot subdivision.
President Russell M. Nelson announced the temple in 2022.
Florida is home to nearly 180,000 Latter-day Saints in around 280 congregations. This will be the fifth house of the Lord in the state. Dedicated temple
