COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A woman suffered serious injuries after she was hit by a car on I-25 during the Tuesday morning rush hour.
The crash was reported at 7:30 a.m. on the northbound side of I-25 near the South Nevada/Tejon. Witnesses told police that the woman was crossing the interstate when she was hit by an oncoming car. Her injuries were not life-threatening but serious enough to require treatment; police tell 11 News the woman was initially uncooperative with medical personnel but was ultimately transported to the hospital.
The collision shut down multiple lanes of northbound I-25, causing significant backups. As of 9 a.m., all lanes are back open.
The driver involved in the crash was not cited.
