Lucknow, Nov 11: A doctor from Lucknow has been arrested in connection with the major explosives seizure in Faridabad and is suspected to have been tasked with setting up the women’s wing of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in India, according to Delhi Police sources.
The doctor, identified as Dr Shaheen Shahid, is said to have been appointed by the JeM’s women’s division, Jamaat-ul-Mominat, which operates under the leadership of Saadia Azhar, sister of JeM founder Masood Azhar. Dr Shahid was reportedly responsible for establishing and heading the organisation’s Indian wing.
