Weber State has fired head football coach Mickey Mental, the Wildcats announced Monday, confirming a report from the (Ogden) Standard-Examiner earlier in the day .

Weber named associate head coach/offensive line coach Brent Myers the interim head coach for the final two games of the 2025 season. A national search for Mental’s replacement will begin immediately, the Wildcats announced.

"We want to thank coach Mental for his efforts and the passion he put into our football program," Weber athletic director Tim Crompton said in a statement . "We wish nothing but the best for him and his family in the future."
