President Trump issued a blunt rebuke Monday to a prominent ally, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), after she publicly criticized his focus on foreign policy, suggesting he should instead prioritize non-stop domestic policy meetings.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, the President dismissed the congresswoman’s remarks after being asked about her comments, which also included a claim that grocery prices were up, contrary to the President’s statements.
“I don’t know what happened to Marjorie ,” President Trump said. “She’s a nice woman, but I don’t know what happened. She’s lost her way, I think.”
The President strongly defended his administration’s emphasis on global affairs, arguing that a U.S. leader must view the role from a worldwide perspective.
