A recount was held this week in the race for a seat on the Cohutta Town Council after the outcome came down to a single vote during the November 4 elections.

The recount was requested by candidate Kelli Bryson who placed third with 63 votes behind incumbent Randy Stanton's second place finish with 64 votes.

On Friday, Whitfield County Board of Elections officials posted a notice that the recount would be held on Monday, November 10.

Elections officials told Local 3 on Tuesday, the recount was done and the results did not change.
