STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The United States Marine Corps celebrated its 250th birthday on Nov. 10, and to ensure that the commemorative be all the more meaningful, a host of national and local events have been planned.

To mark the occasion, cake-cutting ceremonies, parades, and gatherings are unfolding throughout the nation, as well as exhibits and special coin giveaways that include commemorative coin programs available for purchase.
