Montrealers took a moment to honour Canada’s veterans at a Remembrance Day ceremony at Place du Canada downtown on Tuesday.

The ceremony included a 21-gun salute by the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment, and a low-altitude flyover by a helicopter from the 438 Tactical Helicopter Squadron.

The event was preceded by a parade, which prompted several street closures throughout the morning. De la Cathédrale between René-Lévesque and de la Gauchetière was scheduled to be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Other Remembrance Day ceremonies are happening across Canada.

More coming.
