WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — The company “Qcells” has announced they are furloughing a thousand workers at their two plants in Georgia.
And one of those plants is in Whitfield County.
Qcells makes solar panels.
The South Korean say that U.S. Customs has is holding up the resources they need to build the panels.
So they are furloughing workers until they can get it straitened out.
The government is cracking down on products coming out of China.
At this point, we don’t know how many of the workers at the Whitfield County plant will be affected.
But company officials say they hope to resume full production in the coming weeks and months.
