Slidell police: 5-year-old hit, killed by family member in driveway while leaving for school

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Slidell Police Department is investigating an early morning death of a 5-year-old child.

Shortly after 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, officers responded to the 300 block of Spartan Loop after a vehicle struck a young child in a driveway.

According to police, the child was in the driveway of their home, preparing to leave for school, when they were hit by a family member’s SUV as it was leaving the driveway.

Slidell police fatality investigators are analyzing evidence and witness statements.
