ST. IGNACE — Mackinac County veterans will soon have a new place to access services and information.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday morning at the new Mackinac County Veterans Affairs Office at 210 Burdette St. in St. Ignace.
The office, which has outgrown its current space inside the county courthouse, is expected to open to veterans in January after indoor remodeling is complete.
Bob Blevins, chairman of the Mackinac County Veterans Affairs Committee and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served from 1962 to 1995, said the new location will make it easier for veterans to get the help they need.
