At our school newspaper, the Mallet, our main goal is to efficiently deliver timely, factual information to students and staff in the Proctor Public Schools. We cover a wide range of topics, mostly about current events here at the high school. But we also cover politics — not every issue and not always in the same way, but always with purpose.
Like any other paper, we are protected by the First Amendment’s right to free speech and the free press. While we have some limitations, our key role is to help students learn how to express themselves, ask questions, and participate in democracy.
