A family-run, Chicago-style pizzeria is shutting down next month after an 18-year run in the Twin Cities.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Tommy Chicago's Pizzeria effective December 20, 2025," the Mendota Heights restaurant announced on its website.

"We've celebrated countless team pizza parties, birthdays, anniversaries, and special moments within these walls," the statement reads. "Your support has meant the world to us, and we are eternally grateful for the memories we've created together."

Owner Mike Magnuson and his wife, Katie, took over the business from Mike's uncle, Tommy Magnuson.

Their four children have all worked at the restaurant and Magnuson said the family is now ready to move on and begin a new chapter.
